The global mobility industry is in the midst of the digital revolution and across the domain, technology is used strategically to enhance the customer experience. Digitization is the need of the hour and there is no escape from it. Technology has provided an opportunity to change the traditional offline methods. Traditional destination services models involved the creation of offline itineraries and tours, printed copies for distribution and reams of printed material containing information about the destination cities. Being the pioneer in the relocation industry in India, IKAN in 2018 introduced i-navigate, a proprietory tool with a multidimensional interface.
i-navigate secure access permits the transferees with single-window visibility of service log entries, enabling them to track assignments and ensuring full transparency. Gaining access to a customised digital tool kit, including city and country guides, providing information that would help better settle the assignee into a new city.
The i-map feature in the i-navigate is unique because it showcases key landmarks that are of particular interest to the assignee. They then have access to orient and re-orient themselves using this facility even post the tour being completed. The relocating employee is able to access virtual housing tours and “i-maps” prior to their actual move, thus getting themselves better oriented with what to expect much before the actual arrival.

Virtual orientation and home search tours give the transferee the access to view customized maps along with landmarks of interest, distance markers, exhaustive property details and a provision to leave comments enabling the shortlisting process.
The assignee and the corporates/HR’s have the ability to preview and provide feedback on their virtual tours prior to their arrival in the destination city. They can follow their planned tour and view property details including photographs and videos. Based on their feedback on the proposed tour, the team can improve the program to ensure that the assignee’s time is well spent.
i-navigate also provides the transferee access to their individually crafted, digital welcome kit, country guides and city papers. Some of the unique features of this tool are:
- User-friendly and facilitates DIY (Do it yourself)
- A GDPR ready and compliant tool wherein the assignee can remotely upload their documents like passport, visa etc, in-line with PII guidelines
- RMC’s and company contacts have clear visibility of the programs authorized in real-time, with the help of logs and reports
- The assignee can share their feedback on the itineraries, anytime and from anywhere in the world. The consultant/manager can feel the pulse of the program and set expectations accordingly
- Assignees have access to the welcome pack and i-maps information throughout their stay in the country, helping them with a smooth transition.
This tool allows transparent access to records thereby enabling the mobility teams to act as IKAN custodians as well as represent a more accurate picture. The RMC consultants can proactively communicate internally and make decisions faster due to the availability of transparent data in real-time, accessed through the secure sister system. Thus, making the entire relocation process more efficient, transparent and smooth for all stakeholders involved.
